Heritage Preservation Commission

The Heritage Preservation Commission (HPC) consists of seven members whose purpose is the preservation, protection, and perpetuation and use of areas, places, buildings, structures and other objects having special historical community or aesthetic interest or value for the community.  The Commission meets the second Wednesday of each month at 5:00pm.

For meeting information, including Agendas and Agenda materials, see the Meetings and Agendas section of this website.  If you have any questions about preservation in Lake City, contact the City's Planning and Community Development Department.

The legal foundation under which the HPC operates is Chapter 153 of the City Code, Heritage Preservation.  This chapter outlines the role of the Commission, as well as the legal authorities it has to act as the City's preservation authority.

The Heritage Preservation Commission is staffed by the Planning and Community Development Department, and is advisory to the City Council.
