National Register Sites

Lake City is proud to have three sites on the National Register of Historic Places 

 

City Hall

 

  • 205 West Center Street, Lake City, MN 55041
  • Listed in on the National Register in 1989
  • Built in 1899, significant expansion in 2002
  • Across from Patton Park Town Square
  • Houses City Administration, Clerk/Finance, Utility Billing, Planning, and Economic Development
  • Historic Ballroom on Second Floor

Williamson-Russell Rahilly House

 

  • 304 S Oak Street, Lake City, MN 55041
  • Listed in on National Register in 1984
  • Colonial Revival Style of Architecture
  • Built in 1862, remodeled in 1911
  • H.F. Williamson was Lake City’s first postmaster, and had the home built in 1862. In 1900, Patrick Rahilly, a state senator and farmer acquired the property and substantially altered the street façade in 1910 adding the remarkable columns that are still present today.

 

Stout Cottage

  • 310 S Oak Street, Lake City, MN 55041
  • Listed on National Register on January 13, 1989
  • Gothic Revival Style of Architecture
  • Built in 1872
  • The original owners, James and Agnes Stout were influential business owners in Lake City, owning a dry goods store and building the structure that became the Pearl Button Factory
