The Lake City Food Shelf relies on grants, cash and product donations from companies, individuals, churches and civic groups, and on volunteers who perform a variety of tasks: distributing food, ordering supplies, stocking shelves, keeping records, cleaning the premises, and writing grant requests. There is no paid staff.
To volunteer, leave a message at (651) 345-5888 or send an email to lakecityfoodshelf@gmail.com and one of our volunteers will get back to you promptly. Most volunteers commit themselves to be physically present at the Food Shelf for at least three two-hour shifts per month. Sometimes it will be necessary to lift boxes weighing up to 60 pounds.
To donate, send check (made out to Lake City Food Shelf) to "Treasurer, Lake City Food Shelf, PO Box 103, Lake City, MN 55041."
