Safe Drinking Water Act

As a provider of public drinking water, the City of Lake City is required to test for lead and copper every 3 years. These tests measure levels of lead and copper present in parts per billion (ppb). Results that require action on part of the city, per the safe Drinking Water Act, are 15 ppb for lead and 1300 ppb for copper.

Tests performed summer of 2025 from 20+ residential locations in Lake City had results of less than or equal to 5 ppb for lead and 153 ppb for copper, which are both well below action levels.
